Bought 7 copies for my grandchildren and they all loved it. This book has beautiful big pictures with strong outlines and a lovely Christmas poem that sets this book apart from the regular coloring book offerings. I highly recommend this book.

It's a coloring book but there weren't pages to color on either side. I also think the pictures to color were small in size. I thought I was getting a large coloring book full of stuff instead I got a meh coloring book. Definitely not worth what I paid.

I've read an insane amount of books with this same type of theme and some blend into the pile while occasionally I find one that stands out in an amazing way. I can't quite pinpoint exactly what it is about it that makes it stand out, maybe I just read it at the right time of my life or something but it had a significant effect on my mindfulness with not only my relationship with food but a lot of other aspects of my day to day life.The book is written in such an extremely simple way, which can sometimes trigger part of your brain to tell you you don't need the information, but I pushed that little voice aside whenever it popped up and was rewarded with full body and mind "aha's" and "I knew it!"'s over and over.If you are the type of person that "doesn't believe in diets" but still haven't found a way to be happy with your body, OR struggle with yo-yo dieting in any way at all THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU!It's a quick read and presents an unarguable truth that your body will LOVE and your mind will most likely refuse due to the simplicity of the facts presented, but I promise it actually works!! Before I had even finished the book and was only taking the small step of acknowledging any feelings in my body before eating, nothing more. And instantly I noticed my eating habits change DRASTICALLY! I did not do one other thing, no meal planning, no restricting in any way, I just mentally acknowledged and put a name to any emotions or sensations present in my body before I ate anything and I didn't try to change anything else. If I was sitting at my desk at work and reached for a candy bar I would sit down and while unwrapping it I would mentally say "I am feeling _________ in _________ part of my body and it's OK to feel ___________ right now." (ie. I am feeling incredible stress in my stomach right now and it's OK to feel this stress right now). But this funny thing started to happen... I would stop eating in the middle of my meals and snacks because I was full without even noticing I had stopped. I CANNOT tell you the last time I didn't finish my plate completely. I always eat everything I'm served. But when I started letting myself feel the feeling I was trying to eat in such a simple and non-resistive way, my appetite suddenly balanced to what my body actually needed.Becoming mindful in this EXTREMELY simple way will change your life.
I am a physician, who myself suffers with Binge Eating Disorder. I am trained in nutrition and metabolism and have given and received extensive counseling myself. It has been a long journey over the span of many years. I read this book several years back to assimilate all schools of thought. The truth is- this book can cause SERIOUS damage to a person with Binge Eating disorder which is a true addiction, just like alcoholism. Yet Ms. Roth attempts to convince you that your problem is purely lack of self awareness and self control which she claims to fix with her "guidelines". These "guidelines" that Ms. Roth preaches, basically instruct you to do exactly what you are NOT EQUIPPED to do- to instinctively know "what your body wants, how much, and when". Ms Roth-How about helping explain to people what their body NEEDS and instead of telling them to simply eat until they are satisfied, help explain appropriate portions. People with binge eating, by default, do not feel satisfied and by default they DON't pay attention when they are binging. She admits and tells you that you will GAIN WEIGHT following her guidelines, but she promises you will plateau THEN begin to lose weight as you MASTER her plan, which is not possible for an average person living a normal daily existence, not isolated to a bubble of spiritual/meditation where she expects you to basically DRIFT your way to thinness. Yes, thats right-just float your way there. This is serious stuff, Ms. Roth, do not undermine people's confidence by giving them non sensible goals which they can not attain. Take responsbility for what you are saying to people and clarify your credentials! You should be held liable.
Although I am at a healthy weight, I have a long history of disordered eating beginning at about age 13. It was worse in my twenties with extreme binges and purging, but has now kind of mellowed out in my 30's and 40's to a general overeating/occasional mini-binge. I got past the bulimia by reading Overcoming Overeating at the age of 22 and then The Fat Fairy Godmother's Guide How to Eat it All and be Thin Forever by Glinda West and Think Yourself Thin by Debbie Johnson at 24/25. I did gain weight this way, but I wasn't obsessing, which was great.The weight gain reversed when I stopped trying to do the intuitive eating and allowing myself to eat junk food daily. Processed food just triggers me to binge on a biological level. I don't think it's always emotional. That being said, I have realized lately that a lot of my emotions instantly translate in to a physical sensation of hunger. I transitioned to a mostly plant-based and low processed foods way of eating a couple of years ago after watching Forks Over Knives and reading Proteinaholic by Dr. Garth Davis, and have really been feeling great for the most part. As long as I avoid extremes and all or nothing thinking, I manage to maintain fairly normal eating patterns and weight. However, I still get thrown off course from time to time, which is what led me to Geneen Roth's book.This is one of the best books I have read on how to feel your feelings. The description of inquiry and feeling the physical sensations of emotions has helped me immensely. I love the author's insights. Intuitive eating and her guidelines do not work for me, however. I end up thinking too much about food and going back and forth with restrictive/permissive thoughts that invariably cause me to binge. I found Gillian Riley's Eating Less to be more helpful with a way to get out of the overeating cycle. The concept of "addictive desire" and her "times and plans" method is freeing. I highly recommend reading it as well.A third book I have found to be helpful is Robert Gould's Shrink Yourself. (He refers to The Voice as "Harriet" or "Harry".) If Women Food and God is the spiritual, Eating Less would be the physical and Shrink Yourself is the mental. Find a way to synthesize the information (sometimes conflicting) in all three in a way that works for you. This is what I am basically doing right now.

I loved this book. The characters came to life right off the page. The storyline held my interest throughout the entire book and I found it terribly hard to out down. I have read two of her books and I will continue to read her.
I have loved Ms Freeman's writing from the first time I read one of her books over thirty years ago! She draws you into her characters' world with a deft hand and carries you along to the end. It is a shame that this glorious author is no longer with us. But, we are so lucky to be able to get her books today!
This is a wonderful story spanning a couple of generations. Some reviews have mentioned that it was wordy and drawn out but I liked knowing what the characters were thinking. Because of this by the time I finished the book I felt like I knew each of the three main characters better than if they were family I lived with. The story addresses the hate and discrimination against Jews. Reading about how Hitler manipulated people to follow him is bothersome, especially in out current political times.
There is a lot to say about racism and its effects on the people who experience it. There is also a lot to say about people who want to remake their identities. Unfortunately, this book doesn’t say any of them with insight, compassion or intelligence. For a better look at this story, read Phillip Roth's The Human Stain.
The story line was believable. I did notice grammatical errors along the way, and the ending was a little flat. I cared enough about the characters to finish the book.
Sorry to have this one end. One of the best historical novels, detail, characterizations, time and place; all kept me anxious to pick it up and read more!
What a wonderful book, I found it also very sad for a person to be ashamed of their heritage and religion.
I like books about people I can feel I know and have interesting lives. I am also old so I like happy endingsP

Because I would certainly would. Once, started as a movie a heart wrenching gorgeous movie about how people can bond through music. Its a universal theme as people form affections through bond and love of something mutual. But this work of art took it to another level.Now the book is pretty much the movie but with certain plot details added, a joke or two to make it smoother but the beauty, the core, the heart and the ultimate expressions of love are there.Indeed the book and the movie complement each other, and music changes sligthly in the musical so you dont feel it like a movie turned musical automatically upon seeing it.**spoilers ahead****spoilers ahead****spoilers ahead**The ending is pretty much the same, they indeed dont end up together, you know they will do so in the future. Because they love each other, but they still have things to work out with their respective former loved ones. But they are not right for each other. The power is there, the strength of the movie is translated to the play, because when the guy tells the girl about being alone I was moved to tears for I felt his loneliness and when the girl tells him her true feeling in the shadow of her language I cried "Once" more because I felt her regret. The play is strong and stands for itself a an amazing work of beautiful art.
I'm NOT a reader. So for me to actually read this took a lot of internal motivation. I will admit, the book sucks. I mean, me reading the book to myself sucks. But the story is just incredible, and the show is even better. If you've not seen ONCE, you need to see it at least TWICE. It's one of the most intimate theatrical experiences you'll ever have. If a group of actors showed up to my house on any night to read this to me, and I'd be OK with that.
I first saw Once over at the New York Theatre Workshop; I saw it again on Broadway and on tour. Each time, the show has brought me to tears with its moving score and simple yet elegant script. Edna Walsh finds moments of humor and grace in what could be a romcom in less talented hands. This was my favorite dessert (has much more than cookie recipes in it) recipe book after going through many. It's the only cookie cookbook I'll ever need. Reliving motherhood with this one ...baking the same cookies for my grandson that I baked for my children in the 90's. So glad this is still available.
Took 2 weeks to get because it was sent “bound printed matterâ€, I paid for hardcover as advertised. I got a paper thin cover! Pages were stuck together. It was advertised as “newâ€
I first got this book as a gift when I was in high school. The layout was so easy to explore, there are photos of every recipe, and the cookies it made were delicious! I ended up making my way through the entire book, cover to cover. (Ok, not the coconut ones--I hate coconut. But almost the entire book.)It's been over a decade since I got that first book, and somehow I keep losing it--I either loan it out and don't see it returned, or it gets lost in a move, or I bring it with me on vacation (yes, I bring it with me if I'm going to be baking somewhere other than my house) and forget to bring it back. But this book has become such a staple I keep buying used copies to replace the ones I've lost!I would recommend this to anyone, whether they've never baked a cookie before in their lives, or are experienced bakers just looking for some new recipes to try out. You will not regret owning this cookbook.

I'll be honest. I bought this book because it was the book from which I learned to cook. This is a solid cookbook. I'm not going to say that I've cooked every recipe in the book, but those I have cooked turned out quite well. Not only does this book have simple, easy to follow recipes, but it also has more complex ones, for when you feel adventurous with your cookie making. For the modest asking price this is a steal.The only downside is that this book lacks any recipes made without flour. I've not experimented with substitute flours, but I've heard stories... Terrible stories. If you're trying to go gluten free, not the book for you. But otherwise, Solid cookbook

I picked up this book thinking it would be a book of creepy anecdotes. I would have been happy with that alone, but it was a book about the art of pain and living. It was so beautiful. Sarah Krasnostein's beautiful, lyrical writing made me fall in love with Sandra in the first page. I continued to fall in love throughout this story and found myself crying in public places while I read and only began to understand life in the shoes of Sandra Pankhurst.I haven't been so satisfied by a book since "A Prayer for Owen Meeny." Sarah's writing has a breath-taking ability to illustrate the comedy of the absurd, a keen sense for philosophical thought, and a credible and enjoyable take on history. This is a must-read.
Meeting Sandra Parkhurst, you might think of a vibrant woman who is a hard worker, a pragmatist, and a great storyteller. But what Sarah Krasnostrin tells us about the life of this remarkable woman, someone who reinvented herself over and over throughout the decades and faced both horrific abuse and true love, is inspirational and moving. A whole life laid out before us in loving, maddening detail (and sometimes no detail at all), I can not recommend this book highly enough. It’s gorgeous and beautiful and sad and hopeful all at once.
The author's prose is simply perfect! The subject matter and how society treated a human being is hard to swallow. I grieve for Sandra and I celebrate that society has sort of moved on. I feel guilty that I ever smacked my children. I sent them a message to say that I loved them.
An intimate description of the heartaches and joys, and ultimately, successes of an amazing person who fearlessly found her true self over the course of a very difficult like. Her life is truly a triumph, in the face of great resistance!not for people who are squeamish about sexual identification, and “trauma cleaningâ€.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author does a wonderful job of sensitively portraying the life of Sandra. Compassion, empathy and lack of judgment are key themes of all the interwoven stories along the way. A fascinating life story is made all the richer for its telling.
This was one interesting and unique story. It held quite a few twists and turns and gave me insight into this field of work. A lot of information about hoarders and other quirky people. I had no idea when I began it that the subject of the book was a transgender. I learned a lot about this too. It definitely held my attention.
I never write reviews, but this book was such a joy, so remarkable that I had to rate it as excellent, even though I risk diminishing it with inadequate praise. Sarah Krasnostein’s writing is transcendent, so pure and perfect that it gave me goosebumps. Her subject, Sandra Pankhurst, is one of the most richly described and deeply admirable person I have spent a book with, a true Athena of the then unrecognized MeToo experience and a optimistic warrior of life. Thank you to both of them for getting to know them. I can’t wait for her next book.
I thought this would be a book about a crime scene cleaner but it’s more of a biography of a spectacular transgender woman. The author also interjects her personal perspective which adds to the understanding of this complex person. Most of the cleaning jobs described are about hoarders which is fascinating. Recommended

This is the ultimate guide/bible for collecting Beatles US pressings. Pair this with the Bruce Spizer collection of books that detail the making of all of the albums along with photos of all of the variants, and you have everything you need. Additionally, this book utilizes Bruce Spizer's catalog numbers, which I personally use when I catalog my items. The only thing negative I have to say about this book is it's age. It's 9 years old and desperately needs an update. Otherwise, an amazing book.
Let's face it. Beatle memorabilia will always go up in price. Due to the fact that their story is as intense as the music itself it's really hard to pinpoint exactly what will go up in price and what (if anything) may go down. Add to that the ever present speculators and the forfeits and bootlegs...what to do?Buy a book from a known source. It's what I did. Mr. Cox does a great job and even though its been five years and the prices have gone up again, this is the book where you can decide to start a serious Beatle collection. Well done and a constant source of information relevant if only to collectors. A must have for serious ones like myself.
Long time casual Beatle collector and recently slowly moving into the Bealte-collecting world deeper. For several months I struggled to find information, questions i should be asking, values - I am fortunate it doesn't come as an App or PDA version or i'd simply look at it too much. The layout, photos, detail are wonderful. The intro is nicely unpatronizing. As said well abouve - I can't say enough about the Herculean task these guys keep 'once more onto the breach' doing with each new edition but...if I had a a humble wish list....in this digital priting and online age I'd love lots more written on counterfeits and repros (with detailed photos and recs for how to avoid) and more breakdown if possible on certain items in that dynamic of the gps from VG to NM pending on availability, etc - something to address the collapse of the VG=50%, G=10% etc. But, man, this book is so fantastic I can't complain and i'm sure it's getting better all the time....
As the previous 10 reviewers have noted, this book is a great accomplishment by the authors.Like the other reviewers, I highly recommend it to you, the Beatles collector.Having this book in hand spurred me to go thru my collection item by item to see which versions I have (or don't have) and to look for unrecognized gems of high value. While doing that I was surprised to find more than a handful of items in my moderate-size collection that somehow ended up not in the book. Hard to believe that anything was left out or inaccurate, but it happens with any book as any writer will tell you. Hopefully the authors or publisher will have an errata or additions page somewhere on the web for us.Great book.Top of the line.A new gold standard for music collection price guides.Buy it "YESTERDAY".
I had the 1st edition of this price guide, but of course, it is a little outdated. So I purchased the newer 6th HB edition of the price guide and have really been enjoying it. I love the photos, the descriptions and amazed with all the variations out there to collect. Great price guide and well worth the cost.
I'm new to record collecting, and this is my first ever record price guide, so I found the learning curve to be just a little bit steep. But now that I've gotten the hang of the terminology and the book's layout, this guide has proven to be invaluable, not only ensuring that I know exactly what I'm looking at, but also that I stay away from bad deals. The decision to include solo Beatles records and other Apple releases was also brilliant and greatly appreciated.
Awesome price guide but too bad it's 8 years old. Will an updated edition be coming out soon? I sure hope so very soon.

I have the kindle edition. I found this book to be pretty good. I only scanned the book, did not read the entire thing. There are easy to follow directions, shelf lives of products and even a caution if needed for the essential oil used with the recipe. That surprised me, shelf live and warnings. It seemed to be a short book, but with 60 pages; there is quiet a bit of information included. There are some nice recipes in this book and I am going to keep this one.
This book is very simple and is primarily a recipe book for those at home making it for themselves. The recipes seem fine and contain instructions. The lotions and creams contain no preservatives, which is fine for some of the recipes, but any with water will need a preservative unless you keep it in the fridge and pitch the extra after a week or two. If you make lotions to sell, these recipes would not work for you. You will not gain a lot of insight into understanding the ingredients or anything beyond following the simple recipes. The price is perfect for what you receive, but do not expect anything beyond some recipes. I did not find it helpful for my uses, but others may.
Wow, being an owner of a group home, for people with special needs, this book is awesome! Easy to follow, easily accessible ingredients will allow my residents to make gift baskets for their families. We are looking forward to picking the lotions, creams and balms ingredients, along with purchasing containers, little cases to make lip balm, wash cloths, hand/face towels and little baskets...it is a great way to make gifts from the heart. A book filled with product ideas for everyone!
I you are new to DIY skin care than this guide will help you get started fast. It looks very interesting as you can learn to prepare basic Aloe Vega Gel and other recipes at your home instead of spending a small fortune on these. It's also a very nice hobby to have. Recommended reading if you are interested in the subject.

While I was expecting whole Torah passages to read each week this book instead offers an elegant analysis of the human engagement with faith. A beautiful essay each week is a great prompt for medidation.
Although there are a very few tendentious (too gender-political) essays here, most of the essays here are very interesting and enlightening. Worthwhile for anyone seeking to expand their horizons re the Torah or are looking for good material for a weekly sermon (dvar Torah).

What a story! I listened to the Audible version with Jaycee's voice while reading the Kindle edition.I don't want to go into her story but I will say that I admire her courage and strength to get through the past and learn to live in the present. May her future be forever bright, along with her family and friends.
I can imagine this book took a lot of courage to write! So if I see one more review saying that it doesn't go into enough detail I will die! Also she had a only 5th grade education and was living in a backyard for 18 years so excuse her for not having the best grammar or writing skills. I personally liked that it was written in her own words. I felt I was hearing the story as told by 11 year old Jaycee. It makes me see her perspective on what happened through an 11 year old's eyes. If one is reading the book and actually comprehending what Jaycee talks about, animals were what kept her going. So if all she talks about is cats it's because that's all she had for so long.A few reviews claimed the book was repetitive, there are times that's true but instead of thinking of that negatively and bashing Jaycee's writing abilities, I see it as a recovering woman trying to piece together a story of 18 years of captivity. A story in which people begged and pried into her privacy just to get. This book also aided in her healing she wanted to write in her own words she explains why if you read the preface!!!!This book was a hard read but an excellent insight on Jaycee's perseverance, strength and her unbelievable ability to survive and overcome a horrific event. I never went into reading this book thinking it would contain superior grammar and writing style. I applaud her for sharing her story. (She also isn't a bad writer) I recommend this book for sure!
The last week or so I've been on a kick of reading either true crime novels about girls that have been kidnapped or in the case of, this book, when the victims themselves have written their own story in the form of memoirs or a book. I find that I prefer the accounts that are written by the survivors of the kidnappings; they seem more honest and you know what your reading actually happened to the author. Sometimes true crime novels just feel like they are listing all the facts they can find to include in their books. While I do value accuracy reading the same thing three times throughout the book and knowing its the same fact just worded differently gets really frustrating and boring to be honest.This book follows the life of Jaycee Dugard starting around the time she was first taken from her parents. And follows her throughout the next 18 years as Philip and his wife Nancy make her change her name, as well as Philip raping her every two to three days. They tell her that they took her so that Philip can use her for his pedophilic urges and in this way he won't have to kill or rape someone else to fulfill his twisted needs. He (Philip) also gets Jaycee pregnant twice both times she has girls and when she becomes a Mother it strengthens something in her because now she has two little lives depending on her to protect them and keep them safe.It also really struck me how the abductor's wife Nancy was so involved in taking Jaycee who was only eleven at the time; I mean what kind of female would do that to another woman much less a pre-teen girl; I cannot even imagine being that evil. This story kept me enthralled and interested for the entire book; it does have some graphic details so if that would bother you or if bringing up unwanted abuse from your own past then although its a good book I would not recommend you read it.Jaycee definitely has her own style of writing; she even hints in the beginning of the book that her writing style is vastly different from the norm. I love that she has her own voice and she deserves so much more than what that evil couple did to her. I gave the book four stars instead of five because at places it was really jumpy, and things got repeated a lot...other than that I really enjoyed the book. (Maybe enjoyment isn't the right word;) I'll just say I respect that Jaycee had the courage to write it, and to continue to try to live a normal happy life with her girls.If you like true crime novels or are just looking for a change of pace; and something that will really rock you to your core than I would definitely recommend this book.
I cried. A lot. As a victim of teenage abduction this really touched my heart knowing I am not alone. You are an amazing and strong woman, Jaycee. Thank you for sharing this with us. I can imagine it was not easy.
