I bought this for my 11 yr, old grandson to stimulate is interest is history. But this book was too crude and mocking so I am not giving it to him.
My kids love these books
If a surfer were to tell the story of the Vikings, this would be the cool version. Humorous with really bright illustrations, children are going to enjoy Viking History Dudes. The author knows her audience. This book is full of interesting facts children would want to know, like Harald the Shaggy who waited years to cut his hair. There are facts about Viking culture, burials, trading, raids and kings. All told with a funny slant. There are also stories about the Gods and they also are memorable because they are funny stories kids would like. For a small book it is packed with information about Eric the Red, King Olaf and Harald and Rollo's religious conversions. There is also a section about William the Conqueror. Children will stay engaged in this book and enjoy learning about those Viking dudes .

The first 1/3 of the book isn't too bad but it really goes downhill from there.Some things I ponder about this book:I was unaware that Vikings made such frequent use of inverted crosses. (Plan to look that up)There seems to be a lot of Christianity mocking, but to be honest it is really hard to tell as mockery is prevalent throughout.The author states that it is baptism in Christianity that cleans a converted person from their past actions; a basic understanding of the religion teaches that Jesus Christ's blood sacrifice (His Blood) washes one clean from sin. Not a bath. Dude, that's basic.Getting tweens to "giggle" at vulgarity might leaving learning anything about actual history a questionable task with this one.
my son loves this book and so five stars. he askedme to buy allthe others but sadly i can only find one more. anyway, nice book. my son is 8 and an advanced reader but i think any kid who can read can read this its easy reading. . vikings were warriors its hard to sugar coat that, and not really history if you do. i like books that tell the truth. not to say thisbook is all violence, its well rounded. my son is a real fan of Loki who is a frost giant and very mischevious...
This book was amazing for my son! He is in the 7th grade and had a difficult time understanding the curriculum. This simplified the material and made it easier for him to understand. The images also put a visual into his head that helped him remember important facts.
My 12 and 10 year old boys have both History Dude books and they love them! They have spent hours pouring over them, reading and looking at the fun illustrations. Lots of facts in these books, told in a fun way!

I've spent the last 10 months learning tango primarily from YouTube videos. I saw a few of the videos on YouTube from the DVD that accompanies this book and they seemed promising. For $4 plus shipping I didn't have much to loose because dance classes and milonga s cost more than this.The product is advertised as the book being the central teaching element and the DVD is a supplement. The book is excellent. It's so easy to read and covers so much material in a succinct manner. IMO this book is a great place to start or pick up at any point in your learning process. It should be a classic and maybe if it's discovered and promoted the way it deserves to be it will.
The book and the dvd are the very best. You cannot go wrong with this one. Its a clear and simple step by step guide. The dvd alone is worth the price. Rarely do you find a book that is this good.
The picture on the cover is of a "sexy" young couple in a not so tango pose....and not even wearing dance shoes. But we know that sex sells so I can understand the reason for the cover.The content of book itself is the genuine article and does, in great detail, describe many of the must know concepts of the Argentine Tango. Dispersed within the book are also many other little gems of knowledge.As for the explanations of the physical movements they are at times tedious and confusing for a potential neophite but they are accurate. It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words but often it takes many more than a thousand words to describe a picture. In a series of pictures, it is not what is just pictures that is important but the transition in between picture to picture. These transitions are where the true knowledge and understanding lies and is often almost impossible to explain.So my suggestion is to buy this book...it is a good one, on and about tango. But also seek yourself some good live instruction from a competent instructor. By the way, it is hard to find a good instructor just as it is for a good instructor to find a good student so choose wisely.As for the included DVD it is also very good and does clarify much of the explanation in the book and then some. I enjoyed it and once again gleamed some really nice little gems.As an instructor of the Argentine Tango myself I am always looking for ways to improve my own knowledge and teaching method as well as explaining it to my students. So, I do highly recommend this book for all looking to improve their knowledge of this beautiful and extraordinary dance.

The book came and was in very good condition with the dvd. I couldn't get the dvd to play on all but the newest dvd player I had.

Really good book and DVD to practice and learn different numbering systems in ASL. Includes different numbering systems like math, finances, fractions, and more.
The DVD is great as explanation showing the way to sign each number, large number, time of day, week, month, year.
Everything looks like new and good to go including the CD with the book. A small amount of damage to the corner but never the less looking in great condition. The order arrived quickly too. Took about week coming from across the country that is great.
